I thoroughly enjoy doing this. Whether I’m being loaned a vehicle for a story or booking the occasional rental, always makes a trip extra memorable by making it just that much more personal.

The Abarth is such a fun car, hot hatches have an unmatched casual elegance.

I knew it would be great for the tight roads in the villages and cities...but I was really surprised just how it good it was in general. Felt more nimble than a GTI, sounded fantastic, and proved to be the right car for the week+ long trip. I've looked at buying one since actually.

Great South of France car, fun on the Haute Corniche and practical around Nice. That being said it's hard to beat a GTI, I have one in NYC and it really does it all. Still waiting on a proper Mini JCW

Quite the GTI endorsement!

The GTI is on balance one of the best cars for the price. I bought one when I ordered the Defender while I was waiting for it to come in, had it about a year. Loved it was sad to get rid of it. I have a Mini JCW now as well. Great car, for some reason feels more ‘fun’ than the GTI. But a little less solid. I guess you could say I’m a hot hatch fan.

A JCW and a Defender are a great garage combo. Hot hatches are the best, there is a real sense of “fun” that most modern cars lack. I’ve got a V8 vantage and a GTI, honestly I enjoy the GTI more most days.
